solved the problem for me. I'd prefer for it to work in the default
configuration, though.

Apparently the problem has been caused by old
~/.fvwm-crystal/preferences lying around from the previous version.

As a side note, your wallpaper thumbnail generator scared the bejesus
out of me. It forked literally *dozens* of convert(1) processes,
rendering the machine unusable for a couple of minutes. Tnat's, uh, less
than optimal.
Rather a nit, but stalonetray doesn't work with Qt4 any better than
trayer. Deactivating Psi by clicking its tray icon still makes the
tooltip appear out of blue.
