I am having trouble getting fvwm (version 2.4.18) to run on my
Slackware 10.1 system.
I am trying to migrate from xfce and I run the system on a remote
desktop using wdm. I have discovered how to get xfce to go away and
then the menu of window managers in wdm works so I can select KDE,
blackbox or WindowMaker all of which run successfully.
>From what I can see of the wdm Xclients file if I select 'failsafe'
from the wdm menu it should fall through to xvwm2, but it doesn't,
absolutely nothing happens and there's nothing in my .xsession-errors
file either.
Help!
If I run startx directly on the slackware system it still runs xfce
unfortunately so I can't get to fvwm that way.
What's the simplest way to get fvwm2 running?
