It would be nice if the grow* options ignored any obstacles on a lower layer. This doesn't appear to be the current situation, but if it was, then you could solve your problem by promoting your window to a higher layer, growing it, and then placing it back in the original layer. Does anyone know of any reason why it might be a bad idea to have the grow* options behave in the suggested manner? --Dan Ost
