OK.  I just verified that things are OK when I log in using GDM as
opposed to XDM.  Not sure what's different there.

Nothing with FVWM has changed.  I'm running the following:

fvwm 2.5.16 compiled on Oct 30 2006 at 04:50:21
with support for: ReadLine, XPM, PNG, Shape, XShm, SM, Xinerama, XRender, XFT, 
NLS
