Because I think klipper prefers to work via some sort of systray stuff
-- try running stalonetray and seeing if that helps --- because you're
then telling FVWM to find it via the WindowList and select it, no
wonder it works -- without it, it's "hiding" expecting a systray to
put its icon and such like.  I am guessing here slightly, due to the
fact I know nothing about KDE.

Because KDE's a bloated pile of shit which pulls in half of KDE to use
one feature?  (c.f. GNOME.)
