I think there is a misunderstanding here. The monitors are setup just fine (I did that using xrandr). I have no config file for fvwm yet. > > The Problem: > > I can not move windows to the right screen. When I try to do so (by > > draging), the "workspace" shifts. X is probably not aware of the resolution, but I believe after setting X up with xrandr, it should be ok. It feels more to me, that fvwm is not aware if gets confused/missbehaves when moving a window over the screen border. > > What I tried so far: > > XineramaPrimaryScreen 0 > > Xinerama On > > OK, so far so good. Actually, this solves part of the problem (sorry for not saying so in the first place, I played around so much ...). Now, when I try to move a window to the right screen it works until the mouse hits the screen border. Also, when I try to move a window on the right screen, it jumps to the left screen (maybe caused by a workspace shift?). > > in the fvwm console. > > > > What I also want: > > I heard, with fvwm and xinerama, one can manage the workspaces on the 2 > > screens independently (switching workspace on one screen does not switch > > it on the other screen).
