I think there is a misunderstanding here. The monitors are setup just
fine (I did that using xrandr). I have no config file for fvwm yet.

Openbox behaves just fine! X is probably not aware of the resolution,
but I believe after setting X up with xrandr, it should be ok.
It feels more to me, that fvwm is not aware if gets confused/missbehaves
when moving a window over the screen border.

Actually, this solves part of the problem (sorry for not saying so in
the first place, I played around so much ...).
Now, when I try to move a window to the right screen it works until the
mouse hits the screen border.
Also, when I try to move a window on the right screen, it jumps to the
left screen (maybe caused by a workspace shift?).
