Full ACK - I only was referring to the hardware bus, telling _one_
absolute upper limit. From CKP's platform matrix [1] you'll learn that a
bit beefier Sun platform [2] (SunFire V120, >30% faster CPU wise) is
rated as 130Mbit/s throughput - way below 1Gbit/s so my bus limit still
is true...   ;-)

Thus expect a performance well below 100 Mbit/s for the cited E250.

rounding performance figures up, of course...
