Try your original 4.0 certificate key and choose 4.1 when asked which
version you are registering.
If your 4.0 is not eligible for upgrade, it will tell you that.

Try the following:
Call CheckPoint Support @ 817-606-6600 and then press "7" for licensing.
You
will need to leave a voice mail with the following information:
Name, Organization, Phone #, Email, Detailed problem (i.e. converting 4.0 to
4.1), Cert key, and Support ID (if you have one).  I just tried this number
this
morning to make sure that it still worked and it does.
