What they may mean is without subscription support you cannot get a 4.1 motif
license, so you have to do your administration remotely. Although I don't
think you have to have software subscription to actually run firewall-1, you
can't get updates and patches without it. Also if you decide later to get it
they could possibly force you to pay from the time that the subscription lapsed.
I have had this happen with other products.
