I hope this isn't too far off the scope of the list, but I'm using FW-1 for
NT v. 4.0 (I think - sorry, not at the firewall right now), with Esafe
virus protection

A specific problem I'm having is that over the last couple of weeks, my
users are having trouble loading pdfs in a browser. The page loads as
blank, or else an error comes up saying there was an error on the page.
I've ruled out user error, have reloaded their browser software & acrobat
reader plugin, etc. Now I'm down to scanning and the firewall. Loading
the pdfs works great outside the firewall.

The Esafe software has no specific settings for scanning pdfs. In fact, I
have fairly relaxed rules in terms of virus scanning on the firewall
overall.

Has this come up for anyone? Does anyone have any specific suggestions in
terms of improving performance in virus scanning through esafe? Is it
worth it, especially since I have pretty good antivirus coverage everywhere
else? The scanning slows down large downloads, too (which mostly affects
me, since I'm the one downloading programs, etc.).

thanks for any help
Rachel
