I need your help to know the speed of Firewall -1 packet processing per second.
1) I'm looking forward to insert a firewall-1 box as security gate on a gigabit ethernet network.
But i'm wondering if this box will not be an hindrance for speed in my network. I intend to use Cisco
catalyst 2948G as Layer 3 switch to implement an HA solution with stonebeat. This switch highlights IP
for 64 bytes packets at:
- 14,880 packets per second for 10-Mbps port
- 148,800 pps for 100 Base T ports
- 1,488,000 pps for 1000BaseX ports.
So, if someone knows about packet forwarding rate in firewall-1, this may help.
2) Is there any Gigabit ethernet card for Firewall-1 under Linux Redhat 6.1 . I've seen on stonebeat site NICs for
NT and Solaris 2.6, but not for linux.
3) Any advice on firewall-1 and Gigabit ethernet network are welcome
