FWIW
Early versions of FW1 3.x on NT 4 would stress out on low memory <128MB
which would require a reboot (say once a month)
4.1 has been in and running here for a few months requiring no reboot (I
know not HA but a big improvement)
No VPN no NAT , T1 link to net + 3 x 100MB segments (no huge traffic over
these routes tho)
Under this environment it runs fine. www.phoneboy.com would be your typical
starting point for FAQ and www.securepoint.com for the archives.

cheers

Subject: [FW1] fw-1 on NT boxes

All,

I am going to be installing FW-1 on a NT 4.0 server box soon and would
appreciate any tips/tricks. Since it's going to be a firewall it will be a
minimum install with netbios etc left out.

I am not too confident in NT's memory management and it's been my experience

that they should be re-booted once a week as a precautionary measure, any
thoughts on this?

Also any URL's regarding this would be good.

Thanks,

John
