Greetings Simon! And welcome to the Fort Wayne LUG list! I certainly did not expect a response from you...when Vern said we might be hearing more from you in the future....well, I thought maybe you might be in town sometime and drop by a LUG meeting, not reading the list and replying tonight. Anyway, I am brand new to Kubuntu. Just got 6.10 installed and working last night on a Fujitsu LifeBook A3040 notebook (AMD x86-64, ATI something or other video, Atheros Wifi, ATI sound of some sort). This was my second try, the first attempt was totally trashed. Not sure why, but I think it was related to notebooks and acpi=off issues. My learning curve is quite steep. I combine the best methods and elements of Search and Destroy with the best of Crash and Burn. I can probably best serve as the poster child of what not to do, and how not do it. :D Hopefully, we will be welcoming you to the fort soon!! charlie > > ________________________________ > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of ChasJTurner > Sent: Tue 3/6/2007 8:24 PM > To: Fort Wayne Linux Users Group > Subject: Re: [fwlug] Ubuntu IndianaTeam is forming > > > > Vern Ceder wrote: >> Hey... >> >> If any of you are interested in becoming involved in Ubuntu's inevitable >> rise to world domination ;-) you might be interested in joining the >> Ubuntu IndianaTeam.
