I also use Tigerdirect and Newegg. I almost always shop 
best-bang-for-the-buck unless the one paying indicates otherwise. I found 
Newegg to have top notch customer service. Tigerdirect is good CS, but nothing 
like Newegg. I do use Tigerdirect more because their warehouse/system can be 
less than 24 hours from order to receiving. 

  It seems like the best-bang-for-the-buck system works well for Windows, which 
usually means overkill for any Linux system I've ever admin'd.

I have had good luck getting good gear for little money using New Egg, Tiger 
Direct and the like.  Of course it will take more time to hunt up the most bang 
for the buck and if you have set yourself a budget (a good idea lest you end up 
over spending as 'feature creap' takes hold <g>).  Also you still have to build 
the system as well.  But you can save 20% to 40% depending.
