That *was* a good catch on the grant though. I don't hear about people
from our area getting anything like that every day (or every year, for

So as admin of this list, I'm asking you all to stop the language wars
thread, now.
Pulling rank isn't terribly constructive. One could just ask politely,
and if the suspected 'troll' persisted, just kick them from the list.
And I would also remind everyone that we've always been a very tolerant
and open-minded group, able to respect divergent opinions without
getting snarky. As long as I'm running this list, I want that to
continue. To be blunt - no more trolls. Period. Don't start, don't feed
them.

Likewise. For the benefit of the un-intiated my pseudonym means "no one"
& "nothing", the meaning of which is beyond the scope of a linux list.
Suffice it to say, it serves a reminder that squabbling over petty
things is essentially meaningless. Hello, irony...
you've only been on
this list since April 1st (nice coincidence, that) and yet your tone has
been derogatory and contemptuous in every single post.
I wasn't aware expressing a belief and then trying to explain my
position was considered derogatory or contemptuous. I suppose we see
what we want to see in the words of others though ;)
If it helps, people in real life call me an ass, too. It isn't news to
me, nor do I consider it a bad thing. I have a tendency to disregard
emotions because I want to make people *think*, and more importantly, I
want them to explain things to me in a logical manner rather than trying
to offload their emotional baggage. My methods may be unorthodox, but
they usually get results.
I would suggest

Agreed. If it appeases the python crowd, I'll take a look at a python on
the next rainy weekend that comes up. I doubt I'll find anything I can't
already do with my current language set, but it never hurts to have
options ;)
