Nobody I've talked to knows what Linux is. But I've not met any particularly computer-savvy folks. I *do* know that qq.com, one of the biggest ISPs, provides software only for Windows, so Apple users are out of luck.
But iPhones and iPads are still all the rage. I did find out that iPads cost about twice as much here, even through here's where they're made; I'm guessing demand-side pressure is at work. As expected, it's too difficult to explain the concept of an operating system to people who do not share a language with me. The best I could do was to try to equate how the software on the iPod/Phone/Pads is to the software on the MacBooks, what Android (and although they don't seem to recognize that name, they recognize my phone) is to the software running on my laptop. I'll leave education to the locals. ;-) _______________________________________________ Fwlug mailing list [email protected] http://mail.fortwaynelug.org/mailman/listinfo/fwlug_fortwaynelug.org This is a public list and all posts are archived publicly.
