This has not much to do with G books in particular, but I'm kinda happy at the moment so I thought I'd share --
I purchased an Airport Extreme base station off ebay, and an Edimax PC card (802.11n) from OWC (for my Pismo). I just now set them up. I didn't have too much trouble, except that the Airport Utility kept telling me that the IP address wasn't valid. So I called Charter (the only cable service available here) to get advice. Of course, they put me on hold. And while I was waiting on hold, the base station decided all by itself that the IP address was valid after all! It is now working perfectly. So -- if you're trying to set one of these things up, don't give up if it fails at first. Just let it stew in its own juices for awhile -- this took roughly 5 or 10 minutes from the first error message to final connection. And of course I have to ask -- why would it do this?? -- Ione Smith -- now surfing with no wires!
