Hello:

I have restored the original software, including OS 9.0 on our Lombard
G3/333. On our Intel iMac, I downloaded, from the Apple web site, the
three updates necessary to bring the Lombard up to OS 9.2.2. These
updates carry the .smi.bin extension, and the iMac can open them. I
copied them to a CD-ROM to install them on the Lombard.

On the Lombard, the package icons are blank and I get an error message
indicating that the machine does not have the software to open them.

At the Download page,
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75103
I see that in the Multi-part download option, the software icon looks
like some puppy chewed of the lower right corner.

How do I proceed? I do not want to set up this Lombard for the
internet with our personal account info.

Thanks,
Al Poulin
