Well, THAT is a function of having a file system on the stick (HFS+) that the PC cannot recognize.
You can get a program like MacDrive <http://www.mediafour.com/ macdrive> for the PC which will let it read and write to an HFS+ drive. Really, if you want a bootable thumb drive on a Mac you can't have it readable on PC's too.
