Hooooo-kay....Couldn't get MyBook to show on desktop, but it did appear in ATM and Disk Utilities. No data on there yet, so I formatted it Mac OS Extended (HFS?) Shows up on Pismo desktop (10.2.8) but now doesn't play nice with Dell running Vista. Shows up in Device manager, etc, but will probably need to be initialized to show on My Computer. (Sorry for all the windows stuff, I know its a Mac list)
I even initialized on the Pismo for Free Space, but no go on the Dell. Anyone know how to make this play nice with both? You know, kinda like my USB stick does? :-) Thanks! The Pismo can address FW/USB hard drives of any size under OS X. As for the HDD format, it should play well with any other OS. But, if you're only using the disk for data, I wouldn't bother reformatting it. I use a MyBook for TimeMachine backups, and at the beginning it just wouldn't mount, same as yours. I kept trying until it finally showed up. From that point on, it's been pretty pain-free for about a year.
