I don't have my pismo in front of me, but there was a little freeware app for OS9 that forced the software to run the battery down all the way without the shutdown. This should be good for that calibration as well. Sorry I don't have the name, but someone might know what I am talking about...

New batteries need to be calibrated. charge it all the way up, then use it on the battery alone until it shuts down past the sleep warning, then charge it all the way back up. If it still behaves like this after the calibration steps, then the battery is likely faulty. (When I got the NewerTech extended life battery for my Pismo, the first one I got was bad, OWC exchanged it for another and, after calibrating, gave me several hours of battery life. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's G-Books list, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
