Not that it answers your question directly, but I don't think I've ever changed the PRAM on my Pismo. Bought it new in 200 . . . 0? 1? Upgraded to 1GB of RAM in 2002, right around the time chips for doing so became available. I still have clear memory of changing the PRAM battery in my long-gone Blackbird (540c), but while I've changed just about every single part in the Pismo the PRAM battery so far has not been one of them.
