When I got mine, I'd say it would be suitable for audio recording  
(before any upgrades.) a 20 GB HD is good enough (you can always use  
an external firewire hd,) 192 MB RAM is not too slow, and Panther  
(runs Audacity well) makes the machine more than suitable for simple  
audio recording IMO.
