I've had odd experiences with a Newer Tech battery for my Lombard. It
worked well for close to a year, when I eventually upgraded to a TiBook. It
seemed to die more from lack of use than anything else, but it refused to
charge at all, which was disappointing. I just left the Lombard plugged in
on my desk, with the battery in. A few months ago, I just decided to test
it, and the battery had a full charge, and was holding it. Back from the
dead, for some unknown reason. Merry Christmas from the battery spirits!
I'm going to guess that a used Apple battery from iFixit will work as well
for the price. If you buy a new Newer Tech from OWC, it will come in a box
with return shipping to recycle the old one. Otherwise, Radio Shack will
take the old battery.
