If you're talking about repairing a broken power plug by soldering like your photos show, I've done something similar and it worked fine for me, I still use it. I used zip ties to hold the plastic in place again, but I've also encapsulated some other power plugs in quick epoxy (JB Quick Weld 5 Minute). I've replaced the DC input board in the clamshells, it's small. I think sometimes the sockets come unsoldered and might be repairable? I want to know, has anyone successfully used the two "rack" charging holes to charge or run a clamshell?
