Lombard is a 'tweener ... it is the first "New World" PowerBook, but
it does not have all the features of the true "New World" PowerBook,
the Pismo.

In the Pismo, the CPU card was extensively reworked, and it accepts
one or two SDRAM sticks, and those many be any of "high profile" or
"low profile", although those must still be "low density".

The Lombard, and the earlier Wallstreet, accepts one "low profile"
and one "low profile or "high profile" SDRAM sticks.

If you are sure your sticks are "low density", then a Pismo will
support a maximum of 1024 MB, whereas the Lombard (any variation) and
Wallstreet (any variation) will accept a maximum of 512 MB.

OS 9 will not support more than 768 MB (according to my failing
memory), but OS X will support the full 1 GB, on the Pismo and later
PBs.
