Hi - I have a late model PowerBook G4 1.67 GHZ which has always had abysmal wireless reception in my house - I have assumed due to antenna placement around the screen. Other laptops sitting on the same table (Pismo and iBook G4) have never had any reception problems whatsoever. The server is an Apple Extreme located in another room down the hall. All three laptops are running OS X 10.4.11.
The PowerBook G4 has been in to the Seattle Apple Store Genius Bar in University Village multiple times for diagnosis but no hardware problems were ever identified although they did replace the wireless card once with no effect. I am now interested in exploring whether there might be a PC slot or USB 'dongle' that could improve wireless reception. Thanks in advance for any suggestions that might help. - Maretta --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's G-Books list, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
