For OS 9, you'll likely have to do a custom install of the OS to add  
in the USB drivers. It's very simple: pop in your OS 9 CD, start the  
installer, and select Custom Install when offered the choice. Then  
uncheck every thing except the USB-related items. I did this on my  
7600 way back in the day when I got a USB card for it. Apple has a USB  
update for older machines, but it only applies to systems earlier than  
OS 9.
