You _almost_ certainly will need the Flip4Mac plugin. WMA is a propriety format and is a pain in the youknowwhat to work with for that reason as fewer software developers who work on the freeware/cheapware side seem to develop for it in the Mac world. An alternative: there is a cheap ($10) bit of shareware called EasyWMA that will let you convert WMA files into other formats that are more easily manipulated by Mac programs like Audacity or Amadeus. Allow me to be a broken record and say again that Audacity may have the advantage of being free but the interface sucks. Rock me Amadeus! :-) Actually, Audacity ain't that bad, but Amadeus is just better plain and simple and is only $40. http://www.hairersoft.com/Welcome.html Bloviating aside, both Audacity and Amadeus can easily handle the trick of raising the volume of a file itself once it's in a format that they can read. I think AudioScribe can do it, too, which you would already have if you by chance use Toast for your disk burning needs. FWIW.
