People have ran it on slower G4s. But if you would attempt it, it
would most likely install fine, except be really slow. I'd recommend a
7200 or 5400 RPM HDD, and 1 GB of RAM. One of the downfalls of this
would be the graphics card, which would significantly slow down the
performance of things, because it lacks Quartz Extreme support. If you
have a good backup of your hard drive, and have those upgrades, then
you should try to install it. You can use a different hard drive, or
the same, just make sure it's backed up. If you're using the same hard
drive with Tiger installed, you can download LeopardAssist, which will
trick the computer into thinking it's an 867 Mhz G4. If you use an
empty hard drive, you can go into Open Firmware and adjust this
manually. Once Leopard is installed, the clock speed will show up as
550 Mhz again. If you want to try this, please tell us how it went!
