There is a free software called VUE that can be used to make a family tree. Can add a pic of each person. Not a true geneology software but created for research academics. Says runs Mac OS X but I have not tried it in Panther. Any software like Powerpoint that allows creation of an org chart should also create a simple family tree. http://vue.tufts.edu/index.cfm
