I'm using a Linksys WPC54G v3 (Broadcom chipset) with Airport Utility 5.4.2 under 10.4.11 running on a Pismo. The DSL modem is a 2Wire 1800HG, which works fine as a wireless with a PC, and works fine when the Pismo is connected to it with an Ethernet cable. The DSL modem is using WPA encryption.
But when I use the wireless card, the modem doesn't show up on a scan. I'm not sure what's wrong. I'm used to using other wireless cards on PC's, and the Airport software is different enough to be confusing to me. I also once used a Belkin F5D7010 v3001 card on the same setup with success, but I was using WEP back then. Now with WPA, I can't stay connected - the card switches off fairly quickly, whether I type what I think is the right password or when I deliberately type the wrong one. With this wireless card, I can see the 2Wire modem listed by the software. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are a member of G-Books, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
