Hi All
Am I correct in assuming that "Old World" machine is indicative of a
pre PPC Mac?
No. Old world machines are those that have the MacOS bootstrap code
built in to a ROM. All of the PowerPC machines with beige cases were
Old World. I believe the iMac was the first new world machine. The New
World machines have better Open Firmware and most of the ROM code is
loaded from a file on the hard drive.
