Again, yes.
Go get KisMAC <http://kismac-ng.org/> and see what channels those
other networks are using, you may simply be a victim of duelling
networks, especially if your signal is lower than theirs. Set your
base station to a channel that others aren't using.
Depending on your physical environment there are things that can let
you get better coverage; the more walls and metal between you and your
base station, the lower the signal.
