Tried that and the cheap o router (dedicated for a/b cards) will not connect to 
the internet. I think because the NETGEAR is direct to the modem and is WPA 
encryted?

Do you mean to connect the cheapo router to the Ethernet switch that is between 
the  NETGEAR n router and the wired machines> ?
