If you use the Adobe updater, it installs a downloader that tries to escalate permissions!!? I've seen this on several of the Windo$e machines at work. Look for a browser plug-in called ADM or some such. I always try to find a free-standing installer for just this reason. They hide them on the website, but persistence will reveal...
