My RoadRunner account uses the standard port and no authorization (i.e.
- no username/password).  In practice, I must be attached to their cable
to use SMTP. 

In Tiger Mail, in Preferences for my RoadRunner account, under Outgoing
Mail Server (SMTP), Server Settings, Authentication is set to 'None'.
