Blaine depending on your choice of OS on your laptops I'd say get a PCMCIA/PC 
card/Cardbus card that reads CF cards.
I'm picking you have something like OS8.6 or 9.0 on the 3400, OS9.1 or 10.2 on 
the Lombard and OS10.4 on the Pismo.
All three have a PC card slots and will read a CF card with those operating 
systems.
I'd suggest a USB2.0 PC card but I think only OS10.2 and higher will read it.
You could also get a Firewire external drive and a Firewire PC card but that is 
quite a bit more $ again.
