If you have access to 10.4 Tiger it works fine on these old clamshell
iBooks. If yours has Firewire (SE version) Tiger will install
normally. If yours doesn't have Firewire, you'll need to either create
a custom installer CD/DVD (or USB stick, or USB HD) with a modified
OSInstall.dist file. The only other alternative is to use XPostFacto 4
to help install Tiger, but then don't install XPF extensions onto the
new System, these USB-only iBooks can run clean, unmodified
installations of OS X. I'm certain iTunes in Tiger can run your iPod.

I have an Ibook clamshell 366mhz, 576 RAM, OS 10.3 and 40 gb

with serveral audiobooks. Somehow the itunes do not recognized the
device. Could it be OS 10.3 does not work with the ipod?
Does anyone had this problem?
