My powerbook took a spill, and there's clear damage to the case at
the left-hand side hinge.
If I hold the thing tightly together at that corner it works properly.
The screen itself is fine, no problems there.
A friend had a similar problem with a 667DVI Titanium recently,
although it was a front corner which was damaged.
He used stiff metal wire in the manner of a bulldog clip to keep the
split tightly held together, and it seems to do the trick.
The only complication was that the computer was running when the drop
occurred, and it bunged the HD. After the 'staple' repair, I was able
to boot from the DVD drive and check that the screen and other
internals were okay, so he picked up a replacement HD at OWC and has
used the laptop for a few months now without problem (but being
'kinder and gentler' when opening it up than before the drop).
