dmage on TiBook DVI?

My powerbook took a spill, and there's clear damage to the case at the
left-hand side hinge.

 See

 <http://dbdev2.pharmacy.arizona.edu/miscjunk/hinge_damage.jpg>;
 <http://dbdev2.pharmacy.arizona.edu/miscjunk/hinge_damage_movie.m4v>;

 If I hold the thing tightly together at that corner it works properly.

 The screen itself is fine, no problems there.

 Do you think the hinge is broken or is this simply a matter of the glued-up
screen coming apart and losing it's strength?

 I found this site <http://home.comcast.net/~macdan/tibook_display.html>;
on taking the TiBook screens apart. Has anyone done this and lived to tell the
tale?

 This will become the 'TV' Mac, run headless, if the screen isn't
repairable, I'll have to go find a replacement laptop, most likely an
Intel. Replacing the screen is not in the cards, not at the prices I found.
($300 for "grade C".)
