All,

Just actually had a chance to do this. So using CMD+V for Verbose mode the
only thing I see different is that the slow iBook give the following line:

AirPortFirmware: start Sta f/w download

It stays here for a while. The other 2 do not do this. Is there a firmware
upgrade on the airport card I need to do?

Thank You,
Albert

Kris' suggestion of using Verbose Mode (boot holding down cmd-v) is
spot on -- it will give you an idea of where the delay be.

Also try booting into Safe Mode (holding down shift key), then
rebooting normally, then rebooting again.  This automatically clears
and rebuilds the kernel cache.

A tool such as OnyX will help you run other cleaning procedures.  Exp
cleaning the system, application, and font caches - as well as the
kernel cache.  It will also let you easily run the three
Apple-supplied system maintenance tasks.

AppleJack will do a deep cleaning, at a lower level than regular
tools.  Um, I know that 1.5 requires Tiger or newer.  I think 1.4.3
is what you need for Panther.
