Couple of more questions. I'm wondering if the open firmware method can work with my external firewire dvd drive? If I change the open firmware to make it think is is a G4 ibook not a G3, will it reset itself to normal when the installer books from the firewire drive? Secondly, if open firmware can work, what do I type to make if think is is a G4 ibook instead of a G3? I have read that at start up one holds down the Command-Option-O-F keys until the open firmware screen appears. I've read one set of instructions to spoof a Leopard instal disk . Here they are.
