This is probably not helpful, but I have an AlBook that seems to have
a propensity for shedding screws inside the case. Once it died with
the "bad RAM" warning beeps. I took it in and one of those screws had
fallen into a RAM slot, shorting it out. I hope yours is as easy to
fix.
