Simon Royal wrote a helpful article sharing his experiences with a
Titanium PowerBook and bus-powered USB hard drive that some of you G3
PowerBook users may also find helpful.

Problem 1: USB 1.1 is s-l-o-w - too slow for practical use when
copying lots of data.

Problem 2: USB 2.0 PC Cards usually don't provide sufficient power for
bus-powered USB hard drives that use 2.5" notebook drives.

The usual solution is some sort of power adapter, which means you have
to use your PowerBook and portable drive near a power outlet. Simon
found a 100% portable workaround for that.
