One of the greatest features of the Wallstreet / PDQ is the expansion bays. MCE Technologies have an expansion bay kit which can hold a 2.5" drive (less than 12.7mm height). Available here -> http://tinyurl.com/79md3qx for $69. I have two of these. I can boot from the expansion bay drive; I can hot swap a drive (provided I haven't booted from it); I can fit two expansion bay drives and copy files directly from one to another; there is no noticeable difference in transfer speed comparing the internal drive to an expansion bay drive. I run Tiger X.4.11 using XPostFacto. This is great, but can present problems if I get trouble with the internal drive. For example - Disk Warrior 4 requires Tiger, which requires XPostFacto, which requires a functioning hard disk for the startup files. Having an expansion bay drive has saved my bacon on a number of such occasions.
In short, if I were in your situation, I would install your SSD drive internally, and fit your old 80GB drive in an expansion bay module. Boot up from the expansion bay, and format/partition your SSD drive. Then do a clean install of Tiger on your SSD. Tip -> You will need to create two partitions, with the first partition less than 8GB in size. You can then install Tiger to the second, larger partition, and boot up under XPostFacto using the first partition as a "Helper" drive. This is the only way you can run Tiger on a Wallstreet without being cramped by the 8GB memory limitation of the startup disk. Contrary to what some others have written, you do not have to have Tiger itself physically installed to the first 8GB partition. You would then have options available such as: (1) If you boot up from your internal SSD, you have all your old files available( simply by inserting the expansion bay module. (2) You can still boot up from the original system via the expansion bay, if you needed to. hth..
