thank you guys. I am going to inspect this iBook in spare time and maybe reinstall the system. Not giving up on it. Despite having the up-to-date Perian and latest QT it just doesn't show any video when I load ANY divx/xvid file - just audio. Might be some glitch affecting MacTubes performance.
Also thought about installing overclock hack called "iCook", run from Terminal.
