Does the screen light up if you open the screen just  a little from the closed 
position ?  Sometimes the signal cable gets frayed, and depending on how open 
it is, the screen wont display anything.  If thats not, then you probably have 
the BGA issue that is common to these old units.  They requires a new 
motherboard or a reflow ($50 ?).
