It's definitely the power/sound card. All three power cords do the same thing and all three work perfectly with other computers. Unfortunately when I took it apart I couldn't see any problems (no obvious loose connections), so I guess I'll just have to buy a new sound card and hope that fixes the problem. Thanks for the other answers, but do you know if the power board that connects to the batteries sounds normal? I'm just worried that the battery utility will only read the information when it is in a certain bay (the computer treats it the same in either bay). I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend $50 on a battery and $30 on parts for a computer that only cost me $20, but I guess even then its a good price for a fully working Pismo.
