Hello I wanted to know if anyone might be interested in PRAM batteries for their G3 powerbooks.
I am asking because I recently purchased 2 batteries for my PowerMac G4 and iMac G3 and they didn't come in any retail package so I contacted the seller and he showed me that he buys in bulk (he sent a photo of a plastic cart holding about 50 of these batteries). Out of interest I sent him a photo of the PRAM battery for my 2400c along with a list of my machines, 3 powerbook G3s, 1st gen TiBook and 2 2400s. He returned my message telling me: ---- Hi Alex, This battery looks like an accu-pack. I mean it is pack of few (probably 3) small NiMH rechargeable batteries assembled and packed together into one 3,6V battery. I don’t have batteries like that at stock. Usually we prepare such a kind of accu-pack “on demand”. We cooperate with small electronic company – they can do that. But I can’t give you a price right know. It will depend of volume. So please, tell me if all of these Powerbooks need the same battery model? Seems like some of PowerBooks use typical CR2032 lithium battery. Knowing the volume I can ask for price and date. Regards, Marcin ---- Please note that the seller is in Poland, as I am and his English is understandably not native but there is an advantage to being in Poland. Prices are very competitive. Shipping such a small item within the EU is more than likely economical. So I thought that this might be a good opportunity for the community to take benefit. I don't know if there is any interest so I thought I would share this idea. So far I asked how many items I have to purchase from him and for a rough price idea. If you are at all interested let me know otherwise I am hoping to at least populate my own powerbooks with PRAM batteries. I have seen them for sale in the US and they are not cheap and being in Poland myself means costly shipping and some duty would be expected.
